Biography
Melbourne outfit Art of Fighting built its signature approach around pop foundations, pairing relaxed melodies with intricate arrangements. The trio formed in 1995 when Ollie Browne took up guitar and vocals, Peggy Frew handled bass and vocals, and Cameron Grant played drums. For the next three years the group toured extensively as a three-piece across Southeastern Australia. Their appearance on the Au-Go-Go Records compilation Wonder from a Quarter Acre led Half-A-Cow Records to release the band’s first mini-album, The Very Strange Year, in 1998. After the second mini-album Empty Nights arrived in 1999, guitarist and trumpeter Miles Browne joined Art of Fighting.
