Biography
In Stockholm, the experimental rock collective known as Audionom came together through former participants from the local band Apparat, distinct from its German namesake, along with PVC. Among the personnel were Johan Hinders, who took on vocals and synthesizer duties, Peter Backebo on guitar and backing vocals, and Paul Sigerhall handling drums, while Martin Malm served as an official member responsible for films that accompanied their live shows. Between 1999 and 2002, several singles appeared in Sweden, later compiled on the album Retrospektiv. After the group's dissolution, A&R executive Keith Abrahamsson from the American indie label Kemado Records encountered the record during a visit to Sweden, at a point when band members pursued separate endeavors yet left open the possibility of reuniting. On February 20, 2007, Kemado issued Retrospektiv in the United States.
