Biography
Formed in Nordhorn, Germany during 2005, Matthias Metten, Zacharias Adrian, and Kristian Sandberg already shared prior studio experience when they launched ItaloBrothers, an outfit rooted in Italo dance. Their debut appearance arrived in 2006 on the Zooland mini-compilation Italo EP, Vol.1, where “The Moon” led the tracklist. In 2007 the group issued the single Counting Down the Days, whose B-side presented a cover of Mike Oldfield’s “Moonlight Shadow.” Strong demand prompted an independent release packed with remixes from Bassrockerz and Dan Winter. That same year they teamed with Tune Up! for Colours of the Rainbow, and their hands-up trance and Italo dance sets quickly drew crowds throughout Europe. Over the following seasons further singles appeared, several of them—including Stamp on the Ground—reaching the charts in Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. The 2010 collection Stamp! gathered these club cuts into the trio’s first album. As surrounding tastes shifted, they began folding EDM and dubstep textures into their arrangements without abandoning their Italo foundation. European charts continued to register 2012’s My Life Is a Party and 2013’s This Is Nightlife, while subsequent material reflected the style associated with Hardwell and Afrojack. The anthemic Generation Party surfaced in 2016. Summer Air, a more relaxed 2017 offering, climbed into the European Top Ten and reached number two on the Nordic singles chart, the group’s strongest placement to date. October 2017 brought the more pop-oriented single Sorry.
