Matthias Metten, Zacharias Adrian, and Kristian Sandberg launched ItaloBrothers in Nordhorn, Germany, during 2005 after earlier joint projects, shaping the group around Italo dance influences. Their initial output appeared in 2006 on the Zooland mini-compilation Italo EP, Vol.1, led by the track “The Moon.” In 2007 the trio issued the single Counting Down the Days, whose B-side presented a cover of Mike Oldfield’s “Moonlight Shadow.” Strong demand prompted an independent release of that track, complete with remixes from Bassrockerz and Dan Winter. Later the same year they unveiled Colours of the Rainbow in partnership with Tune Up!, and their hands-up trance and Italo dance style soon drew crowds throughout Europe. Subsequent singles over the following years, among them Stamp on the Ground, registered on charts in Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. Their first full-length album, Stamp!, arrived in 2010 and gathered many of their earlier club recordings. As surrounding trends shifted, the group incorporated EDM and dubstep textures without abandoning their Italo foundation. Tracks such as the 2012 single My Life Is a Party and 2013’s This Is Nightlife maintained European chart presence, while further releases reflected the EDM direction associated with Hardwell and Afrojack. The anthemic Generation Party surfaced in 2016, followed in 2017 by the more relaxed Summer Air, which reached the Top Ten across Europe and attained a career-best second position on the Nordic singles chart. October 2017 brought the pop-oriented single Sorry.
