R.I.O.

R.I.O. emerged as a dance project spearheaded by German producers Yann Peifer, known as Yanou, and Manuel Reuter, performing under the name Manian, with former Beat System and Future City singer Tony T. serving as its frontman. Neal Antone Dyer, who was born to Jamaican parents in London, England, and grew up in New York, received an invitation from Peifer and Reuter—already enjoying major success via their Cascada venture—to lend his voice to additional club-oriented tracks. The act launched in 2007 and swiftly established itself as a prominent Euro-dance outfit, as evidenced by the 2008 single “Shine On,” which climbed to number eight on the French pop chart and number ten in Sweden, while “Turn This Club Around” entered the Top Five in both Germany and Austria and reached the summit of the Swiss music chart. Among R.I.O.’s album releases were Shine On: The Album in 2010, the digital-download-only Turn This Club Around in 2011, and Sunshine that same year.
