Biography
Originally known for her work as a brooding singer rooted in indie and alternative sounds, Bria Bueno reinvented herself as Baby Goth, a boldly stylized rapper and vocalist. A contract with the enigmatic Hitway Records quickly elevated her profile, highlighted by the 2018 debut single “Swimming,” on which the previously unheralded artist traded verses with established stars Trippie Redd and Lil Xan.
Born Bria Bueno in Arlington, Texas, she experienced constant relocation during childhood and found stability in songwriting. Throughout her school years she performed with multiple bands, including bluegrass ensembles, while composing original material. By the close of adolescence she had settled in Colorado and begun posting tracks online under her birth name. In 2018 she entered a deal with Hitway Records and shifted toward a rap-inflected vocal style, adopting the Baby Goth persona complete with facial tattoos and imagery centered on drugs and firearms before moving to Los Angeles.
Her introduction to audiences arrived via a guest spot on Trippie Redd’s 2018 mixtape A Love Letter to You 3. Shortly afterward a video for “Swimming” surfaced, again featuring Trippie Redd and Li’l Xan. The track gained rapid online traction, though her abrupt emergence prompted skepticism regarding her legitimacy and origins. Early 2019 brought her self-titled EP, which included “Swimming” alongside collaborations with Wiz Khalifa and Blitzedoffleah. That April she issued the follow-up single “So High.”
