Biography
Balstyrko came together in 2007 as a Danish alternative music trio that united vocalists Blæs Bukki and Ane Trolle with producer Ormen. Born Lasse Bavngaard, Blæs Bukki had already recorded with Den Gale Pose, Malk de Koijn, and Bikstok Røgsystem. Ane Trolle, whose prior credits include JaConfetti and Trolle//Siebenhaar plus sessions for Trentemøller, collaborated with Ormen, born Anders Christophersen and formerly of the electro duo Melk.
The group issued its debut album, the eclectic and tuneful Jagten Paa Noget, in 2009 on Art People/Fake Diamond Records. The set entered the Top Ten of the Danish albums chart and produced the Top 20 single "Intet Stopper Helt."
After nearly a decade of inactivity, Balstyrko resurfaced in 2019 with the single "Boegereden," while continuing to appear at Danish festivals, receive radio airplay, and place music in licensing deals.
