A native of Copenhagen born on March 7, 1972, Rasmus Nøhr developed a career as a contemporary Danish singer and songwriter. Mainstream recognition arrived in 2006 through his second full-length release, Lykkelig Smutning. His first solo outing, the self-titled Rasmus Nøhr, appeared on Copenhagen Records in 2004 yet registered only modest chart activity, entering the Danish albums listing’s Top 40 for a single week before disappearing. In time the duet “Det Glade Pizzabud,” recorded with up-and-coming pop star Ida Corr, circulated as an underground favorite and prompted the album to reappear on the chart several times, ultimately reaching number 21 in February 2005. That accumulating interest paved the way for the 2006 breakthrough when Lykkelig Smutning secured a Top Five placement. Issued two years later, third album I Stedet For En Tatovering matched that level of success by peaking at number seven and included the Top 20 hit “Alderspræsident” plus the follow-up singles “Regnvejr” and “Den Generte Dreng.”
