Biography
During the late 1980s, Lee Drakeford served as lead soul singer for the New Jersey quartet Today, steering the group to multiple Top Five R&B chart placements. Once the band dissolved in the early 1990s, he launched a thriving solo path under the name Big Bub. His opening release, Comin' at Cha, placed the singles "I Don't Mind" and "Tellin' Me Stories" inside the Top 40 while Drakeford simultaneously moved into production and session work as a background vocalist. He subsequently joined the nu classic soul roster at Kedar Entertainment, the same imprint that housed Erykah Badu. Timeless, his second album, registered solid R&B chart results. His third project, The TakeOver, surfaced in 2000.
