Biography
Los Angeles progressive rock band Bigelf draws inspiration from 1970s art rock icons such as Queen and ELO, combined with the intense energy of contemporary heavy metal acts like the Darkness and Coheed and Cambria. This allows them to blend pop and heavy metal references without hesitation. The group came together in 1995, centered on Damon Fox handling vocals and keyboards, Ace Mark on guitars, Duffy Snowhill on bass, and Froth on drums. Prior to achieving success at home, they cultivated a following in Europe for their grand musical works, partly because of their affinity for classic equipment, intricate vocal arrangements, and extravagant stage shows. In 2005 they issued Hex, which earned acclaim from both reviewers and listeners, and this was succeeded by Cheat the Gallows three years later.
