Bootstraps

Jordan Beckett, a Los Angeles singer and songwriter, fronts the American alt-pop group Bootstraps, which first attracted notice in 2011 for placing material in the romantic comedy Take Me Home. Around the same period the band’s tracks surfaced on multiple television series such as Parenthood, Elementary, and Private Practice. Beckett issued the ensemble’s self-titled debut on Harvest Records in 2014 and assembled a touring lineup featuring David Quon on guitar and backing vocals, Chris Jaymes on keyboards, Matthew Aveiro on drums, and Carl Jordan on bass. The follow-up album, Homage, arrived in 2016 and featured reinterpretations of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me,” both of which later appeared on prominent shows including Grey’s Anatomy, Supergirl, and Lethal Weapon.
