Biography
Emerging amid the surge of Swedish guitar pop acts in the closing years of the 1990s, Brainpool originated in Lund, Sweden, through the efforts of vocalist Janne Kask, guitarist David Birde, bassist Christoffer Lundquist, and drummer Jens Jansson. The group’s admiration for the Beatles shone through on their releases Soda from 1994, Painkiller from 1995, and Stay Free from 1996. Following Kask’s departure in 1997, the other three persisted as a unit and issued You Are Here in 1999.
