Braxton Keith, a singer and songwriter from Midland, Texas, merges his affinity for 1980s country with traditional narrative approaches and present-day melodic appeal. Successive self-released tracks such as "Cold Hard Steel and Sand" and "Honky Tonk City" gradually expanded his reach nationwide during the opening years of the 2020s. His 2024 single "Cozy" achieved still wider recognition, prompting a contract with Warner Music Nashville by year's end; the label then issued his EP Blue.

Midland native Keith draws inspiration from outlaw figures including Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson as well as neo-traditionalists such as George Strait. He began issuing material near the close of the 2010s and delivered his initial EP, Neon Dreams, in 2020. The blend of honky tonk and 1980s country elements attracted listeners who embraced his sound over the following seasons. He joined Triston Marez for the 2021 duet "Settle for a Beer" while continuing to release singles like "I'm Not Him," "Give Me a Sunrise," and "Honky Tonk City." The 2024 track "Cozy" became his most prominent release and secured his major-label arrangement with Warner Music Nashville. That song formed the core of his five-track label debut, Blue, which appeared at the end of the year.
