Parker McCollum, now headquartered in Austin, blends rock & roll, classic singer/songwriter traditions, soul, indie rock, and the Red Dirt country sound rooted in his native Texas. His first album, The Limestone Kid, surfaced in 2015, yet his initial Billboard breakthrough arrived in 2017 via the EPs Probably Wrong: Session One and Session Two, both of which performed solidly on the Heatseekers chart ahead of his sophomore release. He later joined Universal and issued Gold Chain Cowboy in 2021; the project climbed to number six on the Billboard Country chart and spawned the number one Country Airplay singles “Pretty Heart” and “To Be Loved by You.” McCollum reinforced his heartland rock foundation on the third album, Never Enough, released in 2023, which was trailed by the Top Ten Country Airplay single “What Kinda Man” in 2024.

Born June 15, 1992, in Conroe, Texas, a community north of Houston, McCollum grew up immersed in music. He first studied violin through school orchestra programs before taking up guitar as a teenager. Shortly afterward he began writing original material, which soon translated into local performances during his late teens. After high school he relocated to Austin, initially juggling college classes with shows before committing fully to music. He worked as a solo act and also served as support for Six Market Blvd.

His debut EP, A Red Town View, emerged in November 2013. The Limestone Kid, his first full-length effort, followed in February 2015 on the independent PYM Music label. Regional traction from that release propelled him toward Probably Wrong, his next album. Its opening installment, the EP Probably Wrong: Session One, appeared in July 2017, peaked at number six on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, and registered on both the folk and indie listings. Probably Wrong: Session Two completed the preview a few months later, with the complete album arriving in November.

McCollum maintained an intensive touring schedule throughout the following year. After securing a publishing agreement with Warner/Chappell, he revealed in 2019 that he had signed with Universal Music Group. The major-label debut single “Pretty Heart” surfaced later that year, succeeded by the EP Hollywood Gold in 2020. Gold Chain Cowboy, his first full-length project for the label, arrived the next year, reached the Top Ten on the Country Albums chart, and placed at number 60 on the Billboard 200. Its momentum was strengthened by the presence of “Pretty Heart” alongside the additional breakout “To Be Loved by You.” McCollum resurfaced in 2022 with “Handle on You,” the lead single from his third album, Never Enough, a Jon Randall production that arrived in May 2023 and peaked at number 12 on the Top Country Albums chart. The standalone single “What Kinda Man” followed in September 2024 and entered the Top Ten of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.
