Biography
Brian Melo, once employed in construction around Hamilton, Ontario, rose abruptly to prominence after claiming victory on the television competition Canadian Idol in September 2007. Viewers of the series saw him as an unlikely favorite, so he maintained his surge by drawing from an eclectic range of performers and tracks, among them Radiohead's "Karma Police" and Robbie Williams' "Angels." The debut single "All I Ever Wanted" reached stores two days after the win, while the first album, Livin' It, arrived in November 2007.
