Biography
Carbellion, known as Midwest heavy rock specialists, first surfaced in 2004 bearing a dense yet approachable style shaped by hard rock, post-grunge, and metal. Characterized by its dark, propulsive, and broadcast-friendly approach, the group delivered a pair of full-length albums plus several EPs ahead of its Eclipse affiliation and the arrival of 2022’s intense Weapons of Choice.
Rooted in Southwestern Wisconsin, the ensemble includes Brandon Bauer on guitar, Cameron Kellenberger on vocals, Brent Nimz on drums, Jamie Damrow on lead guitar, and Steve Sheppard on bass guitar. Their independently released debut EP, the suitably titled American Heavy Rock, arrived in 2005. Villains followed the next year as their first full-length, gaining a later reissue through 500 Records in 2007. An international contract with Dead Tree Music paved the way for 2009’s split EP with Outshine and the sophomore album The Horse. Further EPs surfaced as Headliner in 2013 and In Due Time in 2019. Eclipse Records then signed the band for its third album, 2022’s Weapons of Choice, yielding a forceful and unified set informed by two decades of stage and studio experience.
