Biography
Cecil Lytle maintains his greatest visibility through a professorship in music at the University of California San Diego, yet he has also developed a parallel identity as a recording artist whose most prominent releases comprise a series of albums devoted to the compositions of George Ivanovich Gurdjieff. Among numerous other distinguished scholarly honors, he has earned several National Endowment for the Arts awards. His teaching affiliation with USC dates to 1974.
