Claire

In early 2012 the German electro-indie outfit Claire took shape after producers Matthias Hauck, Nepomuk Heller and Florian Kiermaier joined forces with vocalist and songwriter Josie-Claire Bürkle to record a single track intended for a friend’s film. Their sessions proved so fruitful that the four musicians formed a permanent group and spent the following months developing new material together in the studio. The resulting EP was posted on Soundcloud, where it attracted the interest of the storied electronic imprint Astralwerks, which issued the band’s 2013 release Broken Promised Land. Claire’s first live performances were then scheduled for October of that year in New York City during the CMJ Festival.
