Biography
Patrick Morris, a former member of STRFKR, launched Class Photo as a home-recording endeavor that examines personal and routine topics through buoyant indie pop, fusing synth pop textures with the alternative power pop approach of Weezer. Light Years Later appeared in 2019 as the project's first album.
Morris exited Josh Hodges' Portland-based indie electro outfit STRFKR after its 2014 Coachella set and promptly began shaping material for his own venture. Following a move to Los Angeles, he tracked the bulk of the debut album in his garage. He later settled in his wife's native Norway, where he joined forces with Oslo label Jansen Records; the imprint issued Light Years Later in late 2019. Morris performed nearly every instrument on the dance-friendly set himself, while actress Jacqueline Kim and percussionist Billy DeLelles (Shallou, Chrome Sparks) added contributions as friends.
