Biography
North Londoner Danny Seth, a U.K. MC whose breakthrough arrived through American channels, relocated to Los Angeles after landing a record label internship. Michael Jackson dominated his early listening until Eminem releases sparked his embrace of hip-hop, though his first steps onstage occurred behind the decks, where he performed at clubs and played selections from the initial surge of underground dubstep. The internship placed him in L.A., and despite his conviction that no U.S. label would sign an MC with such a pronounced accent, the example of his North London friends Modestep—who built their own career from the same city—prompted him to reconsider. Blending grime MC delivery with hardcore rap beats, he issued his debut album, Perception, independently in 2015. That year he also debuted the streetwear label Boadicea, which featured designs created by his crew, the British Are Coming.
