The Davisson Brothers Band merge bluegrass, Southern rock, and country into an acoustic style that often feels fresh and forward-looking, pulling from their Appalachian roots as well as influences such as Garth Brooks, Willie Nelson, Del McCoury, and Dickey Betts. Having grown up in the hills of West Virginia, the musicians refined their earthy mix of traditional and modern country across more than a decade before releasing their self-titled debut album in 2009.

Brothers Donnie Davisson, who handles lead vocals and guitar, and Chris Davisson, on lead and slide guitar, started the band in Harrison County, West Virginia, alongside their cousin, bassist Sammy Davisson. The siblings had already begun performing with their father and uncle’s group before finishing junior high, and the lineup solidified once childhood friend and drummer Aaron Regester came aboard. After fifteen years of consistent touring, the group cultivated a loyal following throughout the Eastern U.S. Their 2009 debut, the self-titled Davisson Brothers Band on Yell Records, produced the single “Foot Stompin’,” which reached the Top 100 on the Billboard country chart, while the album itself climbed to number 205 on the Heatseekers chart.

Once established as an emerging act, the Davisson Brothers Band worked to build recognition across the South by issuing the energetic singles “Country Just Like Me” and “Jesse James,” supplying the theme for ESPN commentator John Kruk’s Baseball Tonight, and opening a music venue with West Virginia Mountaineers football legend and NFL player Owen Schmitt. In 2016 Sammy Davisson departed to pursue a solo path, prompting the addition of bassist Russell Reppert, who had performed with the band in one of its earliest lineups. Following their relocation to Nashville, the Davisson Brothers Band partnered with the Erv Woolsey Management Company and Grammy Award-winning producer Keith Stegall to record their second album. The resulting Fighter, issued in 2018 on Dreamline Records, included the intense single “Po Boyz.”
