Biography
Rapper and producer Devin Malik crafts beats that balance intensity with atmospheric depth, while his rhymes balance bold confidence with emotional nuance. Early production credits include sessions alongside D Savage, Isaiah Rashad, and Ab-Soul, after which he issued his debut solo single “LINK DUCKER” in 2023. Appearances on ScHoolboy Q’s widely praised 2024 album Blue Lips broadened his profile, and he kept issuing new material that included the track “PDA.”
Born in Philadelphia yet raised in Rancho Cucamonga, California, Malik learned beat-making from musician cousins and spent nearly every day of his teenage years refining the craft. Working at first under the name Yogaflame, he supplied productions for D. Savage—including the 2018 cut “No Smoke” featuring Lil Yachty—along with tracks for Ken Carson and additional artists. Those efforts drew the interest of Top Dawg Entertainment, leading to five beats on Isaiah Rashad’s 2021 album The House Is Burning as well as further work with REASON, Ab-Soul, and Doechii.
Malik’s first release under his own name, “LINK DUCKER,” surfaced in 2023 and was soon followed by “Wallflower.” He also contributed guest verses to ScHoolboy Q’s Blue Lips, prompting Pigeons & Planes to list him among its 24 Artists to Watch in 2024. Additional singles “CANADIAN TUX” and “PDA” arrived throughout the same year.
