Die Stoakogler

Originating in Gasen, Styria, Austria, the volksmusik ensemble Die Stoakogler first assembled in 1968 around brothers Fritz, Hans, and Reinhold Willingshofer. Over the next four decades the group specialized in traditional Austrian music. Under the earlier billing Das Stoakogler Trio they issued numerous albums, beginning with the 1971 release Das Stoakogler Trio Spielt Auf. Reinhold Willingshofer stepped away in 1993 and was succeeded by Franz Böhm, at which point the trio adopted the name Die Stoakogler. Their final performance took place on September 3, 2011, marking the close of their career with a farewell concert.
