Biography
Montell Frazier, the Pittsburgh musician and producer widely recognized as Montell Fish, records under several aliases, one of which is DJ Gummy Bear. Positioned as a distinct persona inside Fish’s larger creative world, the project layers buoyant EDM and house textures across an existing mixture of lo-fi R&B and hazy soft-pop. After a series of standalone tracks, the six-song Intercession Before Charlotte EP surfaced in the first months of 2024.
DJ Gummy Bear made its debut in March 2023 through a featured appearance with Fish on the song “2 Seater.” During the ensuing year, standalone Gummy Bear cuts such as “How U Make Me Feel” and “Im Fallin” followed, each accompanied by enigmatic images of the DJ in a masked hood. Early in 2024 the lush Fish-Gummy Bear collaboration “I Know I Failed You” served as the lead single for the debut EP Intercession Before Charlotte, which arrived that March.
