Dungeonesse came together when Jon Ehrens of the Art Department joined forces with Jenn Wasner of Wye Oak, their shared enthusiasm for contemporary R&B and pop serving as the catalyst. While Wye Oak crisscrossed the United States, the pair exchanged tracks by email, shaping a style that reflected their shared passion and allowed Ehrens’ production to spotlight Wasner’s powerful voice. After inking a deal with Secretly Canadian Records, they issued the 12" single “Drive You Crazy” in late 2012 and followed it with their self-titled debut album on the same imprint the following spring.
