Biography
Rebekah Pennington and Rebecca Wilson formed the U.K. pop duo Ekkah, a name drawn from the two shared syllables in their first names. The pair first connected at school at age 15 and later performed together for five years in the group Arcadian Kicks. After that indie rock outfit disbanded, the two decided to carry on as Ekkah, shifting toward a relaxed dancefloor style shaped by early-'80s pop and R&B. Their first release arrived in late 2014 as the single "Last Chance to Dance" on +1 Records' singles-focused Honeymoon imprint, after which their output moved to RCA. Tourist handled production on the 2015 track "Small Talk," while the next year's double-sided release "Space Between Us"/"What's Up" featured a collaboration with Dâm-Funk.
