Young Franco

Born Joseph Da Rin de Barbera in Brisbane, Queensland, in 1995, Australian DJ Young Franco assembles an eclectic mix of hip-hop, house, disco, and electro textures. Wider notice followed his emergence in 2014 once the 2021 single "Real Nice (H.C.T.F.)" was adopted as the theme for A-League professional soccer in Australia and New Zealand. The 2024 release it's Franky baby! EP spotlighted the Queensland Music Award-winning track "Juice" recorded with Pell.

Young Franco shaped his style while attending university in Brisbane, uploading material online and performing at weekend shows. His first single, "Close 2 U" featuring Joy, appeared in 2014, followed by further cuts including the gold-certified 2017 release "About This Thing" with Scruzzifier. He has performed at Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival and joined forces with Maribelle, Denzel Curry, Winston Surfshirt, and additional artists. A 2021 collaboration with Tkay Maidza and Nerve yielded "Real Nice (H.C.T.F.)," selected as the A-League theme song, and that year he earned a Queensland Music Award for "Juice" alongside Pell. Additional 2024 singles comprised "Hit" with S1mba and "(Can't Get You) Off My Mind" uniting Tones and I and Chaii. In January 2025 he issued the EP it's Franky baby!, which included the prior "Juice" and further guest appearances by Pell, Muroki, Denzel Curry, and others.
