Operating under the name Golden Features, Australian DJ and producer Tom Stell fuses shadowy, rugged electro-house textures with luminous dance-pop. Instantly identifiable by his signature gold-plated mask, he first appeared with a self-titled 2014 EP that highlighted an imaginative, bass-driven style shaped by progressive house and trap. Club and radio exposure brought headline tours and a collaboration with Katy Perry. His debut album, SECT, arrived in 2018 and reached number 11 on Australia’s album chart. He next joined electro-pop duo the Presets for the 2019 Raka EP, then partnered with American electronic duo ODESZA as BRONSON for a taut, exhilarating self-titled debut in 2020. Golden Features’ second album, 2023’s Sisyphus, features some of Stell’s most driving club material.

Born in 1991, Sydney native Tom Stell made music in the early 2010s as one half of electro-house duo Kyro & Bomber. Wearing a gold mask at first to keep his identity private and direct focus onto the music rather than the performer, Stell adopted the Golden Features alias and issued his self-titled debut EP on Warner Music Australia in 2014. The track “Tell Me,” featuring singer/songwriter Nicole Millar and its striking, surging bassline, drew club and radio attention. A Parlophone-released follow-up, 2015’s XXIV, included collaborations with Thelma Plum and K.Flay. Golden Features released the single “Wolfie,” with Julia Stone, on ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective in 2016. Brighter and more buoyant than much of Stell’s other work, the song was coupled with the darker tech-house cut “Funeral.” Stell co-wrote and performed synths on the song “Déjà Vu” from Katy Perry’s 2017 album Witness. Golden Features’ debut album, SECT, arrived in 2018 and debuted at number 11 on the ARIA chart as Stell began a headlining Australian tour.

In 2019, Golden Features and the Presets released the EP Raka, which contained the gold-certified single “Paradise.” Stell and ODESZA formed the project BRONSON, and their 2020 self-titled debut album featured appearances by Gallant, lau.ra, and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, reaching number five on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Golden Features issued two singles, “Touch” (featuring Rromarin) and “Vigil,” in 2022. Both tracks appeared on 2023’s Sisyphus, one of his most energetic, club-focused releases.
