Biography
Motez, an EDM artist and producer now based in Adelaide, Australia, arrived after leaving Iraq in 2006 and soon embedded himself within the city’s growing electronic community. Releases such as the Own Up EP in 2014 and the Vancouver EP the next year helped define his singular approach, which in time encompassed joint projects with Tkay Maidza, Dom Dolla, and Scrufizzer. He has also gained recognition as a sought-after remix producer, reworking material for Frank Ocean on “Thinking About You” and Mark Morrison on “Return of the Mack.” In 2017 he issued the solo EP Praise together with the single “The Future,” recorded in tandem with Antony & Cleopatra.
