Biography
Hailing from Brighton, England, R&B singer Elli Ingram first drew notice from music executives through her smoldering interpretation of Kendrick Lamar’s “Poetic Justice,” which landed on YouTube in January 2013. Later that July she delivered the free digital download Sober, an EP issued on Chase & Status’ MTA imprint whose tracks were produced either by Felix Joseph alone or by Joseph alongside Aston Rudi. She accompanied the duo on tour and appeared on their album Brand New Machine. After signing with Island in the U.K., she returned with the three-track EP The Doghouse, another concise showcase of her smooth yet powerful, vulnerable yet swaggering approach, again crafted with Joseph and Rudi.
