Biography
Brisbane-via-Berlin native Jarrod Mahon records wistful yet buoyant indie pop/rock under the alias Emerson Snowe. He first issued material under that name in 2017, which led to his inaugural EP, That's Rock 'n' Roll; a follow-up EP titled Splatterpunk surfaced four years later.
Originally from Queensland, Mahon joined pop/rock group the Creases as guitarist in 2013. During the same decade he also issued solo work that diverged sharply from the band’s sound, favoring introspective, atmospheric, and romantic material showcased on the 2012 EPs Vivid and Thoughts, Pt. 1.
Mahon started composing songs while still a teenager and slotted the releases in between Creases commitments. Following the arrival of Vivid in 2012, he shared bills with King Krule and Ariel Pink while also topping bills himself across several London dates. Additional tracks emerged the next year, among them “Hellhole Ratrace” and “Bella Rose.” After continued recording and touring with the Creases, Mahon adopted the Emerson Snowe moniker in 2017, inked a deal with Liberation Records, and debuted on the label with “Could You Love Me?” Later that year he unveiled two further singles, “If I Die, Then I Die” and “Sunlight,” all three of which were collected on the 2019 EP That's Rock 'n' Roll. The single “Frankenstein” preceded his second EP, Splatterpunk, which arrived in 2021.
