Biography
Totally Mild formed in Melbourne, Australia, as a four-piece delivering retro-tinged, folk-inflected dream pop whose guitar-driven sound and the airy, inviting soprano of frontwoman Elizabeth Mitchell evoke a surf rock-hued, Mazzy Star-emblazoned beach tote brimming with sultriness. What began as Mitchell’s solo endeavor expanded to encompass lead guitarist Zach Schneider, bassist Lehmann Smith, and drummer Ashley Bundang. The group landed opening slots alongside Real Estate and Best Coast, after which their debut album, Down Time, appeared on Bedroom Suck in mid-2015. Moving to Chapter Music, Totally Mild released the beautifully austere single “Lucky Stars” in late 2017, with the follow-up LP Her arriving two months afterward.
