Eskorzo, an eight-piece Latin ska ensemble from Spain, entered the regional music community during 1996 by laying down a demo titled Rock de Libertad and then Si Las Cabras Pueden, Nosotros Tambien. Blending reggae, ska, Latin rock, and punk in their sound, the group draws its lyrical themes primarily from provocative societal topics including racism and conflict. Upon releasing their first full-length record Mundo Bullanga, Eskorzo gained chances to perform alongside King Changó as well as supporting the Mexican outfit Molotov on various dates across Spain. Tralla Records, situated in Barcelona, put out the band's La Sopa Boba in May 2001, which included a reggae take on Triana's "Hijos del Agobio," while also contributing the track "El Roto" to a collection tied to the Esparrago Rock festival.
