Eux Autres

Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Eux Autres function as a brother-sister duo made up of Heather Larimer and Nicholas Larimer. Their indie pop material delivers witty, sunlit, and relentlessly playful tracks that evoke Saturday Looks Good to Me and the Brunettes. The trio of songs on their first EP, Partick Nil, appeared in 2003 via the homemade Bons Mots Music imprint and featured lyrics predominantly in French. Before that year closed they issued the holiday single Another Christmas at Home. Co-produced with former Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss, their opening full-length Hell Is Eux Autres surfaced the next year and received a 2006 reissue on Montreal’s Grenadine Records. Positive notices for that record led the Athens-based Happy Happy Birthday to Me label to sign the act, resulting in the 2007 release of their second album, Cold City. In 2008 the lineup expanded when ex-Aislers Set drummer Yoshi Nakamoto joined. Following additional singles and EPs issued across 2008 and 2009, the group delivered its third album, Broken Bow, on Bons Mots Records in late 2010; the set also received a United Kingdom release through Where It’s at Is Where You Are. Early 2012 brought the Sun is Sunk EP.
