Eva & the Heartmaker

Norwegian pop/rock duo Eva & the Heartmaker is built around Eva Weel Skram and Thomas Stenersen. Born in Sogndal, Norway, to a father who performed folk songs, Skram relocated to Oslo in 2004. There she encountered Stenersen, the guitarist originally from Bardufoss, Norway; the pair subsequently married and launched the project together. Their debut album, Behind Golden Frames, took shape inside Stenersen's own studio. Recognition arrived for Skram after she appeared on the talent competition Pop Idol, while two tracks by the duo were placed in the film Mars & Venus. The lineup later grew into a full band featuring drummer Alf Magne Hillestad, bassist Ingar Blix, keyboard player Lars Kvistum, and percussionist/backup singer Anne Marte Nesdal. With that expanded roster they headed back into the studio for a follow-up. Once the song "Superhero" reached radio through an unauthorized leak, Eva & the Heartmaker secured a deal with Sony Music, which issued the album Let's Keep This Up Forever on September 22, 2009.
