Biography
Detroit's Eva Under Fire arrived on the scene in 2015, channeling an accessible yet hard-hitting sound drawn from classic rock, punk, heavy metal, and pop. Mainstream recognition followed in 2022 upon the arrival of the band's second full-length album, Love, Drugs & Misery.
Powerhouse vocalist Amanda Lyberg, performing as Eva Marie, leads the lineup alongside Rob Lyberg on guitar, Corey Newsom on drums, Chris Slapnik handling guitar and vocals, and Ed Gawlik III on bass and vocals. The group cultivated a devoted following through soaring melodies paired with inclusive, relatable lyrics shaped by Lyberg's experience as a therapist. Their debut long-player, Anchors, surfaced in 2015 and was soon followed by the War EP in 2016. Two years after that came the three-song EP Heavy on the Heart. Persistent effort and determination eventually drew the notice of Better Noise Music, which signed the band and released Love, Drugs & Misery. The 2022 album comprises twelve tracks and features the modern rock hits "Heroin(e)" and "Blow," with the latter including a guest appearance by Ice Nine Kills' Spencer Charnas.
