Fannypack assembled vocalists Jessibel Suthiwong, Belinda Lovell, and Cat Hartwell with producers Matt Goias and Fancy. The New York DJ pair first approached Brown University graduate Hartwell to supply vocals for a project that merged L'Trimm/J.J. Fad-style chintz rap with modern-day electroclash and hip-hop. Brooklyn high-school students Suthiwong and Lovell joined next, selected chiefly for their multicultural good looks and street-level slang fluency. Once the goofy lead single "Cameltoe" and its provocative booty bounce dominated national radio, Tommyboy projected strong summer sales and moved ahead with both a full-length LP and a video for the track. Fannypack's So Stylistic reached stores on July 8, 2003. Reviewers at Blender and The New York Times offered praise, placing the album on multiple publications' best-of-2003 lists. The group followed with the disappointing 2005 album See You Next Tuesday and disbanded soon after its release.
