Biography
Formed in Lexington, Kentucky during 2006, the alt-country, roots, and Southern rock outfit Fifth on the Floor drew its name from an early encounter with a bottle of Jim Beam that helped spark the group’s creation. After a handful of personnel shifts in the beginning, the lineup stabilized around Justin Wells on guitar, Matty Rodgers handling guitar, harmonica, and mandolin, Jason Parsons on bass, and Aaron Graham on drums, with every member contributing vocals and harmonies. The band’s self-released debut, The Color of Whiskey, appeared in 2007, followed in 2010 by Dark and Bloody Ground on Sol Records and then Ashes & Angels in 2013 on Black Country Rock.
