Biography
A Texas country singer and songwriter with a brooding style, Dalton Domino crafts music that sits between atmospheric Americana and spare Red Dirt Country. His sound belongs to the progressive country wave that has taken root in Lubbock, Texas, during the twenty-first century. Born in Memphis, he relocated often throughout childhood, a pattern that persisted into his adult years. Exposure to New Found Glory and MxPx in 2003 first ignited his interest in music, yet over time his tastes shifted toward Texas and its Red Dirt country tradition. After living for a spell in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, he moved to Lubbock, where his career gained momentum amid a circle of like-minded artists led by Josh Abbott. There he assembled the Front Porch Family Band, whose lineup included Beau Folfing on guitar, Michael Moad on bass, and Levi Fowler on harmonica, and began performing regularly. Working with producer Jon Taylor, the group recorded its first album, 1806, which appeared in 2015. Regional touring followed, after which Domino and the band tracked a second album in Dripping Springs the next year. Released in spring 2017, that record was titled Corners.
