Biography
Forest Claudette channels vulnerability and artistry into alternative R&B compositions that confront joy, loss, gender identity, and sexuality, a sensibility showcased across the streaming favorites “Creaming Soda,” “Mess Around,” and “Kobe Beef,” the last of which appeared on the 2024 EP Jupiter.
Born Kobe Hamilton-Reeves and raised amid a musical household in Victoria’s Dandenong Ranges, Claudette refined songwriting abilities throughout adolescence before obtaining a recording contract through a submission to a school contest underwritten by Australian radio powerhouse Triple J. The 2022 debut single “Creaming Soda,” which addressed the imposter syndrome accompanying rapid early achievement, found a home on the EP The Year of February. Issued the following year, the sophomore EP Everything Was Green spotlighted the ARIA-winning single “Mess Around (feat. Earthgang).” Claudette opened 2024 by unveiling “Can't Stop” and “Kobe Beef,” tracks subsequently collected on the EP Jupiter.
