Biography
Mickey Kojak, who calls himself the "King of Untz," first appeared in the early 2010s with an electronic style that shifted between pounding dancefloor tracks and atmospheric ballads. Still in his teens when his initial single came out, he issued the Alone EP as his opening project in 2016. Further releases broadened his sonic range, leading to the varied approach heard on Together in 2019.
Sydney producer Michael Dable, who also sings in the side project the Tapes, arrived with the 2014 single "Feel My Pain" that featured Tazzy. The cut formed part of Alone (Sweat It Out), alongside the pulsing cuts "Hit It" and "Move Too Fast." A gentler approach followed on the Surrender EP, highlighted by the shimmering track "Ghost." In 2019 he incorporated wider influences from LCD Soundsystem, Daft Punk, and Miike Snow on Together (ALT: Vision), which contained "All That Acid," "Get Out," and "It's Gonna Be Okay," the last of these enlisting vocals from Jake Stone (ex-Bluejuice). That year also brought the collaboration "Wild at Heart" with Bag Raiders.
