Freddy Quinn

Freddy Quinn entered the world on September 27, 1931, in Austria. He developed a restless-traveler image that carried him to prominence as both a recording artist and film actor in Germany, above all during the final years of the 1950s and across the 1960s. Although he spent stretches of his youth living with his father in the United States, Vienna remained the principal setting of his childhood. His first recording contract arrived in 1954, leading to a steady stream of releases that focused on ocean voyages and faraway journeys, all shaped by his signature solitary-wanderer persona. That same approach kept him firmly in the public eye throughout Germany during the 1960s.
