German schlager performer Mary Roos, who entered the world as Marianne Rosemarie Schwab, achieved her debut success when she was only nine. In the years that followed she placed numerous singles on the charts, among them “Das Hat die Welt Noch Nicht Erlebt,” “Blauer Montag,” and “Arizona Man,” the last of which arose from a partnership with Giorgio Moroder, while also issuing a string of commercially successful albums. She further appeared twice as Germany’s entrant in the Eurovision Song Contest, first in 1972 and again in 1984.
