Biography
Taking its name from the central character in Saturday Night Fever, the Spanish disco-revival group Fundación Tony Manero launched its career by delivering 1970s club and dance classics at a prominent Barcelona venue. The outfit cut its debut album, Bikini 17 y 18 de Marzo, in 1999. Fronted by vocalists Sex Machine and Miguelito Superstar, the ensemble later joined forces with producer Jon Caffey for the follow-up album Looking for la Fiesta, which incorporated Storm’s “Can’t Nobody Love Me Like You Do,” Stevie Wonder’s “Livin’ for the City,” and the hit single “Supersexy Girl.”
