Biography
Nicklas Engelin, a guitarist formerly with In Flames, launched Gardenian, whose style aligns squarely with the Gothenburg sound—an accessible strain of progressive death metal that echoes the direction of his earlier band. The group first appeared on the independent release Six Feet Stand before landing a contract with Nuclear Blast and delivering Soulburner in the middle of 1999, an album that expanded their audience across the United States. Sindustries arrived as the follow-up at the close of 2000.
