God Or Julie

Brothers Jon Paul Johnson and Adam Johnson established the New York-based rock quartet God or Julie after relocating from Denver, CO, and recruited drummer Aaron Stern, formerly of Matchbook Romance, plus guitarist Matt Hogan to round out the group. The name stems from a friend whose songwriting consistently revolves around either God or his wife Julie. In June 2006 Pure Volume placed them at number one among unsigned bands, a period when they served as openers for Buckcherry and Everclear and the clip for “Say Your Last Goodbye” reached 300,000 downloads on YouTube.com. Trashbox Records issued their debut album This Road Before on February 19, 2008, the same month BMI named them band of the month while the quartet finalized plans for a national tour with Chevelle and Finger Eleven that began March 1 in Indianapolis, IN.
