Biography
The cover art of their first release pays tribute to an urban horizon, signaling that So They Say call St. Louis, Missouri home. David Schroeder, Joseph Hamilton, Joe Hoermann, Nick Walters, and Justin Hanson had each logged time in earlier groups, yet the completed roster produced an immediate sense of cohesion. Early tracks shared on myspace.com and purevolume.com drew widespread enthusiasm across the country. Fearless Records responded to that digital momentum by signing the band in 2004. So They Say joined the Warped Tour and delivered their self-titled EP in September 2005. The music fused post-hardcore drive with insistent singing, recalling the work of Hidden in Plain View. Antidote for Irony arrived as a full-length album in March 2006, timed with a South by Southwest appearance and shows alongside Allister and June. Life in Surveillance appeared in 2007.
