Gualberto Castro, a singer specializing in romantic material, first gained widespread attention as part of the Mexican group Los Hermanos Castro. His body of work has centered primarily on the Cuban bolero, a focus that enabled him to share stages with Tony Bennett, Paul Anka, José Feliciano, Johnny Mathis, and Liza Minelli along with many other leading performers.

Victory at the Rio de Janeiro Festival arrived in 1971 thanks to the song “Y Después Del Amor,” written by his brother Arturo Castro. A further highlight occurred in 1975 in Puerto Rico when he performed Armando Manzanero’s “Felicidad.” Gualberto Castro also captured the OTI Festival title on two separate occasions, and in 1978 Paris’ International Festival named him Best Performer.
