Biography
In 2008 the Pasadena, California hard-rock quartet GypsyHawk assembled around ex-Skeletonwitch bassist/vocalist Eric Harris, drummer Joe Fabio and guitarists Andrew Packer and Scotty Conant. Their dual-lead retro-metal attack—stocked with infectious melodies, fantasy artwork and plentiful solos—quickly won an avid hometown following. The band signed with Bay Area label Creator-Destructor in 2009 and tracked its debut with producer Zack Ohren (Animosity, All Shall Perish); citing Thin Lizzy, Hawkwind and Black Sabbath as influences, GypsyHawk released Patience and Perseverance in 2010, a record that plainly reflected those touchstones.
