Biography
Halfway to Gone, a New Jersey power trio, dishes out heavy stoner rock steeped in southern flavors, the sort of sound that might coax the storied Jersey Devil from the pine barrens to join the festivities.
The outfit took shape in 2000 when Lou Gorra, bassist, vocalist, and founding member of Solarized, joined forces with Lee Stuart, Solarized’s touring guitarist, and drummer Chuck Dukehart from Sixty Watt Shaman. Halfway to Gone issued a split album with Alabama Thunderpussy in 2001 and, still that year, delivered its first full-length, High Five, a red, white, and blue riff ruckus where Lynyrd Skynyrd and Black Sabbath party together in a rip-roaring, backyard barbecue.
